New York Jets and Miami Dolphins Pre-Season Questions

New York Jets

When will the Jets pay admission to Revis Island?
Darelle Revis, arguably the best corner in the NFL, is disgruntled about his current contract.
Revis wants to be the highest paid corner in the League. If the Jets make the investment, they better hope he remains humble.
Revis held out of workouts with the team, but has said he would not miss any time during training camp.

Will Mark Sanchez take a step of maturity?
To start as a rookie in the NFL after only starting one year in college is impressive in itself. For the team to go to the AFC championship with a rookie is almost unheard of.
If Mark Sanchez can handle the hype, it could be another long season for the AFC East. If Sanchez throws another 20 interceptions, the Jets could be going home early this season.
The new Jets jerseys were a good team with the rookie Mark Sanchez, and they could be a great team with an improved Sanchez. Their success almost directly lies on his shoulders.

Will the Jets regret letting go of Thomas Jones?
For a team that made so many blockbuster moves this offseason, they could regret letting go of their leading rusher.
After letting go of reliable Jones, they signed LaDainian Tomlinson. Last season was Tomlinson's first year not rushing for 1,000 yards in his career.
Comparing Tomlinson and Jones, the Jets lost around 700 rushing yards in this swap.
If Shonn Greene isn't ready to carry the load, they better hope Tomlinson jerseys shows some youth.
Miami Dolphins

Can Ronnie Brown Stay Healthy?
After suffering injuries two of the last three years, Ronnie Brown needs to stay on the field in order to salvage his image for the Dolphins organization.
Brown has all of the tools necessary to be an elite running back in this league, but he also has to prove that on the field, not on injured reserve.
This season will be Brown's last shot to prove he isn't made of glass. If he is injured once again, Miami will have to put the running game on Ricky Williams shoulders.
It will be a sad day if Ronnie Brown has to put on another NFL jersey.

How will the defense produce sacks?
Even though Joey Porter and Jason Taylor booked one way tickets out of town, their ages were becoming a concern to this franchise.
The only sack weapon Miami has as of now is second year player Cameron Wake. Wake tore up the CFL by making disruptive plays in the backfield, but his transition to be an every down outside linebacker has yet to warrant much success.
Rookie Koa Misi was also drafted because of his ability to be a complete linebacker, and Miami hopes these two can top the depth chart after training camp is finished. If they can't, they could have a hard time getting pressure on opposing quarterbacks.

Who will be the Kick/Punt returner?
Even though Ted Ginn Jr. was an explosive returner, he was average at best. Apart from his two touchdown game against the Jets, he made many fans scratch their head when he would avoid a hit and run out of bounds.
After his departure, Miami will have to evaluate several players currently on their roster. None of the potential returners have the true speed that Ginn does, but Miami hopes to find a more consistent option than the spotty Ginn.
Players that could compete for the return job are Kory Sheets, Patrick Cobbs, Davone Bess, and Chad Pennington jersey.

Sack Masters Hungry for a Dozen 2

Trent Cole, Philadelphia Eagles Rent Cole will find himself aiming for his third career 12 sack season.
With the addition of Brandon Graham to the Philadelphia Eagles jerseys defense, Cole should find himself easily on pace for a dozen.
Cole works hard every game to get to the quarterback. He reads offenses well and finds the holes to get to the pocket.
He is a strong tackler on the d-line and has a knack for the ball.
At age 27, he remains a healthy and in his prime. He is a player that Philadelphia can use to their advantage.
The Eagles offense will have question marks, but on the defensive side, Cole will help Andy Reid's defense keep constant pressure on quarterbacks.
Julius Peppers, Chicago Bears
Julius Peppers jerseys enters 2010 with a change of scenery.
Since 2002, Peppers wore the Carolina Panthers jersey. Now, he dons the Chicago Bears logo.
Some believe after cashing in Peppers will fade into obscurity.
That may be the case by the end of the contract, but this season, Peppers will prove his worth.
At age 30, Peppers still has some good years left in him and this will be one of them.
The Chicago scheme and defensive unit should fit him well.
The Bears defense has a lot of skeptics and health will be the primary concern for the unit as a whole, but Peppers knows what needs to be done.
Working with Tommie Harris on the d-line should lead to both players feeding off each other.
Add in a moderately weak schedule and he will have good reason to smile.
Brian Orakpo, Washington Redskins
After a rookie season with 11 sacks, Brian Orakpo is ready to build off those numbers.
The Washington Redskins jerseys had completely different schemes last season, but a shift to 3-4 will only improve Orakpo's numbers.
He is the ideal pass rusher for this style defense and with a more stable coaching staff, the sky is the limit.
Four of his sacks came against the Oakland Raiders, but he displayed solid consistency throughout the season.
Orakpo has a lot of veterans surrounding him and if Albert Haynesworth shows up in shape, he should have plenty of room to roam.
Orakpo faces some weaker teams and has the benefit of a changed scheme to make game planning difficult for opposing offenses early on.
Clay Matthews, Green Bay Packers
Clay Matthews is another young master of the sack.
As his Green Packers team continued to improve last season, so did he.
Matthews finished extremely strong with seven sacks in the last eight games. The Packers went 7-1 in that final stretch.
Matthews improved in all aspects of the game as he earned himself more playing time. His tackling got better and the coaching staff became more confident in how to use him.
The Packers will be more comfortable in the 3-4 scheme and should recreate the defense that appeared in the second half of 2009.
Matthews will leap over the 12 sack total as he gets a full allotment of playing time during the year.
Tamba Hali, Kansas City Chiefs
Tamba Hali would need to take the biggest jump of all on this list to hit the 12 sack mark.
Hali has never had more than the 8.5 sacks he produced last season.
Now a veteran in the 3-4 scheme, Hali will improve even more so upon those numbers.
Hali fits the pass-rush specialist role well and proved it last season. The coaching staff was able to learn the ways he attacks best and will put him in better positions to succeed.
Hali has solid strength as a former defensive end and utilizes his knowledge and vision to take advantage on the field.
A moderate schedule in a weak division should find Hali with the opportunity to break through lines and hit the 12 sack mark in a surprisingly good season.

The most QB in 2010 NFL season

Matt Leinart, Arizona Cardinals jerseys. It's hard to believe, but at one point, Matt Leinart supplanted Kurt Warner as the starting quarterback of the Arizona Cardinals. Seriously - try to wrap your mind around that one. The year was 2006, Leinart was a rookie that missed much of training camp due to a lengthy holdout, Warner wasn't injured, and now-UFL coach Dennis Green was the man behind the decision. Leinart was largely mediocre in leading Arizona to a 4-7 record that season, and ended the season on Injured Reserve.Ken Whisenhunt became Arizona's head coach in 2007, and though he started Leinart at the outset of his first season, by the time Leinart again landed on IR with a fractured collarbone, he'd already been in and out of the lineup in lieu of Warner. The most unlikely possible Hall of Fame story in league history threw for over 3,400 yards and 27 touchdowns in leading Arizona to an 8-8 record that season, and Whisenhunt named Warner the starter entering 2008. The next two seasons were two of the best in franchise history, as the duo of Whisenhunt and Warner led the Cardinals to 19 regular-season wins, two division championships, four playoff victories, and a close, incredibly entertaining four-point loss in Super Bowl XLIII.During that time frame, Leinart rarely saw the field, though he did find time to add four interceptions to his career total (in 106 attempts). Warner has retired from the game of football, and Leinart re-assumes the reigns of the franchise for the coach that benched him three seasons ago. He's 27 years-old, is still surrounded by excellent offensive talent, and must prove not only that he's capable of leading that franchise as the No. 10 overall pick in 2006, but that he can keep the Cardinals from returning to the league cellar after Whisenhunt and new Warner jersey brought them out of the depths. Something of a playboy, Leinart's managed to stay in the public eye thanks to commercials with the Manning family and appearances in feature films, but the real work is only beginning for the former USC star.Jay Cutler, Chicago Bears jerseys. Selected just one spot after Leinart in '06 by Denver, Cutler was the focal point of the single biggest off-season move between 2008 and 2009. Then-rookie head coach Josh McDaniels shipped Cutler out of town after a very public dispute over trade talks involving McDaniels' pet project in New England, Matt Cassel. Cutler was traded for two first-round picks, a third-round pick, and quarterback Kyle Orton.Cutler looked like an up-and-coming elite signal-caller under the tutelage of Mike Shanahan, who coached him for his first three pro seasons in Denver. After supplanting Jake Plummer as Denver's starter during his rookie season, Cutler enjoyed a three-year window in which he passed for over 9,000 yards and 54 touchdowns (with 37 interceptions). The new Broncos jerseys, however, could only manage a .500 record in those three seasons, and after a three-game losing streak to close the 2008 season cost Denver a playoff spot, Shanahan was fired, and Cutler's trade was made a little less than three months later. His first season with Chicago, however, was a disappointment. Cutler still threw for 3,666 yards and 27 touchdowns, but the new Bears jerseys were just 7-9, missed the playoffs for a third consecutive season, and Cutler's 26 interceptions were by far the most in the league (and six more than the 20 that rookies Matthew Stafford and Mark Sanchez each threw). In each of his four professional seasons, Cutler has elevated his touchdown total, with the 27 he threw last year being a career high. His interception totals, however, have also increased on a yearly basis, and as a result, he's been a far less effective player each year he's taken the field as a starter. At age 27, Cutler is still in his prime, but players that are supposed to be elite signal-callers would be pushing it by throwing half the number of interceptions Cutler threw in 2009. His decision-making remains suspect, and until he can cut down the mistakes and prove to be a better leader, Chicago will have trouble competing in an NFC North division that looks to be excellent over the long haul.

Who Will Impress in 2010

No. 1: Felix Jones, RB, Dallas Cowboys
Jones has plenty of fans within the Cowboys jerseys organization, including fellow Arkansas alum Jerry Jones.
An outpouring of support an and abundance of speed suggests that Felix Jones will get every chance to be the Cowboys’ featured back in 2010.
The Cowboys began focusing on getting Jones the ball near the end of last season. He averaged over 13 carries per game in the final six contests of 2009.
Jones has reportedly adding ten pounds to his frame in an effort to improve his durability. Time will tell if his work in the weight room will have a positive effect on his performance.
No. 2: Malcom Floyd, WR, San Diego Chargers jerseys
With the suspension of Vincent Jackson, Floyd figures to have a prominent role in the Chargers’ offense next season.
A big target at 6-6, Floyd finally lived up to his potential in 2009 after the Chargers parted ways with Chris Chambers.
Floyd finished with 45 receptions for 776 yards and a touchdown, producing by far his finest season of his five-year career.
Those numbers should grow exponentially now that Floyd will get plenty of targets from Philip Rivers.
No. 3: Justin Forsett, RB, Seattle Seahawks
The Seahawks’ infatuation with Julius Jones last season was downright baffling.
Forsett was the best running back on Seattle’s roster last season. He shined in limited opportunities, rushing for 219 yards and three touchdowns in his two starts.
In addition to demonstrating prowess for finding holes in the rushing game, he proved to be a capable receiver out of the backfield.
Leon Washington figures to get plenty of touches for the Seahawks, but Forsett will be the featured back.
No. 4: Michael Crabtree, WR, San Francisco 49ers jerseys
After holding out for the first five games of his rookie season, Crabtree didn’t take long to grasp the offense in San Francisco.
He tallied 48 receptions and two touchdowns in 11 games in 2009, but averaged just over 13 yards per catch.
Alex Smith’s continued development should make the 49ers’ offense more potent in 2010 and produce more big play opportunities for Crabtree.
Vernon Davis is still Smith’s primary target, but Crabtree should haul in around 60 passes next season.No. 5: Mike Wallace, WR, Pittsburgh Steelers
The stopwatch is ticking on Hines Ward’s career.
There is no question that Mike Wallace could emerge as the new Steelers jerseys’ top receiving threat by the middle of next season.
Wallace has something the Steelers desperately need: speed.
His playmaking ability was evident during his rookie season, when he averaged nearly 20 yards per catch and hauled in six touchdowns.
Those numbers could double next season, although the absence of Ben Roethlisberger could limit Wallace’s production early on.

SOUTH And WEST Of AFC preview

SOUTH
Best additions
CB Dunta Robinson, new Falcons jerseys: Atlanta made a big free-agent splash to repair one of the roster's weak spots.
DE Alex Brown, Saints: He should show improvement in Gregg Williams' aggressive scheme.
Biggest losses
DE Julius Peppers, Panthers: Carolina believed he was on the way down the slope, but he still topped 10 sacks in six of his eight seasons.
T Jammal Brown, Saints: Was the starter at LT for the Saints before missing 2009 with hip and hernia surgeries.
WR Antonio Bryant, Buccaneers: Bryant has a career 15.3 yards per catch average in his eight seasons to go with two 1,000-yard seasons.
The favorite
Saints: They kept things together and have the league's most dangerous balance on offense, having finished fourth in passing and sixth in rushing in 2009.
Division breakdown
This is certainly the Saints' show and the division's other three teams don't appear to have nearly enough firepower to keep up. The Falcons, with Matt Ryan fooball jersey continuing his development at QB, have the best chance to make a push, but Atlanta needs far more out of its defense. The Falcons surrendered at least 390 yards six times last season, including both meetings with New Orleans.
WEST
Best additions
G Alan Faneca, Cardinals: He already has moved into the starting lineup and should be top shelf under line coach Russ Grimm.
QB Sam Bradford, Rams: Rookie looks and sounds like a franchise QB for a team that desperately needs someone to fill that job.
RB Leon Washington, Seahawks: Runner/returner gives Seattle offensive coordinator Jeremy Bates some options.
Biggest losses
QB Kurt Warner football jersey, Cardinals: He fueled the team's drive to the Super Bowl, and his supreme accuracy and big-game aggressiveness will be missed as he begins his retirement.
T Tony Pashos, 49ers: He is a productive player who has started 55 games during his career for Jacksonville, Baltimore and San Francisco.
The favorite
Cardinals: Go with the Cardinals, but the heat is on Matt Leinart to show he's ready to be an NFL starter — both on and off the field.
Division breakdown
The Cardinals still have plenty of pieces in place, though they took some hits on defense in the offseason. The key will be Leinart, who threw three interceptions and no TDs in limited duty last season. He has yet to show he can move an offense consistently or make adjustments at the line of scrimmage. The new 49ers jerseys are a try-hard bunch that could make a push in this division, but it's now or never for QB Alex Smith. He rallied down the stretch with 12 TD passes in the last seven games in 2009. Pete Carroll will need his defense to be more than ornamental in Seattle to get in the mix of contenders in his first year on the job.

Green-chip team: Middle-of-the-pack team

Green-chip teams:Houston Texans: Have you ever heard Billy Joel explain his reason for writing "Scenes from an Italian Restaurant"? He claims the song is about a couple (Brenda and Eddie) he knew in high school who peaked too soon in life. They were the king and queen of the prom, but 20 years later they had become fat and hairless, forcing everyone to ask -- what happened to them? Well, that is what I do with the Texans after some games. They look sensational at times, making them an easy pick to go to the Super Bowl, with their dashing offense and their ability to move the ball up and down the field. But then there's that one game that makes me ask -- what happened? The Texans became a team that could not control the line of scrimmage at crunch time or make the crucial play in the red zone. For all their beauty on offense, the Texans are the opposite of the Ravens on defense, meaning they might play well in the middle of the field, but when the ball gets into the red zone, they cave. Before picking Houston to go to the Super Bowl jerseys, remind yourself that the team allowed its opponents to score 65 percent of the time upon entering the red zone, which ranked 31st.Jacksonville Jaguars: The Jaguars' roster reminds me of a college team. They have just a few players over 30, a few salty veterans and a bunch of young, enthusiastic guys who will play hard every game. The problems last year were as basic as their team -- poor pad level on defense and really bad tackling. On offense, they struggled to convert in the red zone and when they went on the road, especially the West Coast, they forgot how to play. Being in a tough division isn't the best nurturing ground for their young players, but they will have to grow up fast to make a playoff run. I just do not see them getting there.

LB rankings: The NFL’s weakening strongside

Tampa Bay jerseys: During the past three years, Barrett Ruud(notes) has become a prototype middle linebacker, cleaning up just about everything that comes his way. He posted a career-high 142 tackles last season. He’d have a lot more if the Bucs could funnel a few more plays his way. Geno Hayes(notes) and Quincy Black(notes) are likewise solid players, but none of the three is much of a playmaker. Again, the improvement of the defensive line will go a long way toward addressing whether these guys are good or just pluggers. New England: If you want to know why the new Patriots jerseyshave slipped on defense the past two years, look no further than who lines up at linebacker these days. New England has gone from players like Mike Vrabel(notes), Tedy Bruschi(notes) and Willie McGinest(notes) (who also played end) to Jerod Mayo(notes) (who’s a very good player), Tully Banta-Cain(notes), Gary Guyton(notes) and Pierre Woods(notes). Mayo better stay healthy and improve because he’s the only one of that lot with great upside. Rookie outside linebacker Jermaine Cunningham(notes) was overshadowed at the University of Florida, but he’s the best young prospect the team has for an edge spot. Carolina: Thomas Davis(notes) will have no impact on the field for the upcoming season because of an ACL tear suffered in June, but his presence in the league will have a strong impact on other players. Don’t expect many players to settle for the restricted free agent tag again after seeing what happened to Davis, who was already coming off an injury-riddled 2009 season. The Panthers jerseys have a good answer for the loss of Davis at weakside, moving active middle linebacker Jon Beason(notes) to that spot, which may give him more chances for big plays. That said, the overall unit obviously suffers because the rest of the linebackers are middling talents. Indianapolis: Colts football jerseys President Bill Polian has spent more than a decade rolling in one Joe Average linebacker after another and somehow making it work. Gary Brackett(notes) is a good leader, solid tackler and very active guy, but he’d be hard-pressed to find a starting spot on a lot of teams. The same goes for Clint Session(notes), Philip Wheeler(notes) and the rest of the Indy linebackers. However, they all can run and play well in the system.

Confidence Level For Tarell Brown

There's not much else to say - you've seen the guy, and if you haven't, it's because he doesn't play that often. He was taken in the fifth round, but was considered to have a much higher talent, perhaps even first round. There's a lot of potential in the guy, it's just whether or not he (and we) thinks he can put it all together. Make the jump for confidence levels.

He's played both nickle and left cornerback, and has done well at both, but never enough to consistently be a starter. At one point, was given a nod over Clements, but then was demoted again behind Dre Bly. Still, my best memory of Brown jerseys is of him picking off Bulger to seal a victory against the Rams. That was a great day.

Tarell Brown is a player whose current worth is hard to place. He's shown flashes, and he's disappeared completely. He's very athletic, probably the team's fastest corner at the moment. The past two seasons have seen Brown posting two interceptions in each season, with his tackle numbers going up. He hasn't been amazing, but he hasn't seemed like a liability out there, either.

So yesterday I took a look at Nate Clements and what your confidence may be in him. He was the first defensive player and previously we have voted on Alex Smith, Glen Coffee, Frank Gore jersey - and many more. Today I'll continue looking at the secondary, and even more, continue looking at the cornerback position

Steelers is not fantasiziing about Adrian Peterson

"I think they'll be angry defense, but as far as our tream coming in, we have our goals," he said. "We're not going to let anybody come in between that and stop that. We're coming in focused on doing our jobs and coming up with a big win."

The Ravens fooeball jerseys defense allowed a 100-yard rusher for the first time in 40 games last week when Cincinnati's Cedric Benson rushed for 120. Peterson said the Vikings expect to see an agrry Ravens defense on Sunday.

"I have so much respect for Ray, but it's the game of football. I don't discriminate against no one," Peterson said. "I'm sure if he gets the opportunity he's going to try and lay the wood to me. Guarantee you that."

Peterson likes to lower his shoulder and deliver punishment to defenders and he said he won't hesitate to do the same to the hard-hitting Lewis.

"He's a player that I look up to," Peterson said at his weekly press conference. "I love the way he plays the game. He's one of the few guys that I talk about when I speak on Brett and how they play the game. With so much passion and love for the game."

Adrian Peterson jerseys got a chance to meet and spend some time with Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis at the Pro Bowl last winter. Peterson has talked a lot about how much he admires the way certain guys play and Lewis is at the top of that list along with his quarterback, Brett Favre.

AD excited to face Ray Lewis

Peterson had his first 100-yard game since the season opener against Cleveland, getting 143 rushing yards on 22 carries and adding four catches for 23 yards in the Vikings' 33-31 victory Sunday over Baltimore.

"The guy came off and just made a great play," Peterson said. "My ankle got caught under him some type of way, and I just twisted my ankle up a little bit." Peterson indicated it wasn't a big concern. "I was in some pain," he said. "It wasn't broke or anything. Right now it's feeling real good, actually."

Adrian Peterson says Ankle is fine.

Adrian Peterson leads the NFL in rushing with 624 yards. Chris Johnson of Tennessee has 596.

Flipping through cable channels Monday night, I caught an interview show called Vizio Pro Files featuring Peterson. At one point during the interview, his dad, Nelson Peterson, was crying. Then I was crying. It was a mess. Adrian didn't cry on camera, but he claimed that he has shed tears about the tragic loss of two brothers. Never trust a man who can't cry or doesn't appreciate the brain and heart of Jada Pinkett Smith.

"And Jada's not bad, either," Peterson added with a laugh.

Jacobs and Peterson shared their fondness for "Fresh Prince of Bel Air," one of Smith's early signature works.

I can see a similarity. Both Smith and Peterson seem quite comfortable with their celebrity, unlike a certain dorky fashion designer.

The woman behind theadventuresofmelindajacobs. com asked Peterson whom he'd like to be if he could be anybody else for a day. After some thought, about 2 minutes and 6 seconds into the video, the adorable Peterson told Melinda Jacobs: "Maybe Will Smith."

The woman who captivates new Adrian Peterson jerseys's heart must be as smart as she is attractive.

Insights into Adrian

Peterson's 624 yards rushing lead the NFL, and his 5.16 yards per carry average through 36 career games is the highest in NFL history at that stage of a career. Barry Sanders had a 5.12 average and Jim Brown had a 5.07 average, according to Stats LLC.

To beat the unbeaten Minnesota Vikings (6-0) on Sunday, the new Steelers jerseys (4-2) understand their top priority must be finding a way to slow down Adrian Peterson, something no opposing game plan or defensive scheme has accomplished this season.

Shut down Brett Favre, who remains one of the NFL's prolific passers? For certain, that's a worry.

PITTSBURGH - They've met with their coaches, watched tape, talked among themselves. The Pittsburgh Steelers still aren't certain how they're going to do it.

Mike Tomlin on Adrian Peterson, ""He’s got a great deal of God-given ability. He is big, strong and fast. He also has things that you can’t measure," Tomlin said. "The tape says he’s ridiculously competitive. He doesn’t turn down challenges, he does a lot of things well even when the ball isn’t in his hands, he’s an aggressive and functional blitz pick-up man.""
